Mission

To promote and facilitate cutting-edge basic, translational, and clinical research in Orthopedics and Traumatology, strengthening scientific development through collaboration, innovation, and the generation of high-quality evidence.

SMIOT fosters the exchange of knowledge, the dissemination of scientific and technological innovations, and the establishment of strategic collaborations among researchers, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and scientific organizations.

Vision

To become a leading society in orthopedic research at both the national and international levels, recognized for its contributions to scientific advancement, continuing medical education, and technological innovation in Orthopedics and Traumatology.

SMIOT aspires to serve as a hub for collaboration among international research societies and scientific groups, fostering interinstitutional partnerships while supporting the creation and strengthening of organizations dedicated to orthopedic research throughout Mexico and Latin America, in alignment with the principles and mission of the ICORS community.

Institutional Objectives

  • To generate, promote, and disseminate high-quality scientific research in Orthopedics and Traumatology, encompassing basic, translational, clinical, and epidemiological research.
  • Actively participate in global research networks such as ICORS and establish strategic partnerships with related scientific societies, fostering academic collaboration and engagement in international scientific meetings and conferences.
  • Design and support educational and training programs for medical students, residents, and early-career researchers, focusing on modern research methodologies, critical thinking, and evidence-based medicine.
  • Promote the dissemination of research findings through peer-reviewed indexed journals and national and international scientific forums.
  • Organize congresses, symposiums, workshops, and scientific meetings that integrate the latest advances in medicine, technology, and research in orthopedics and related disciplines.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous updating of clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice recommendations to improve orthopedic care in Mexico, in collaboration with public and private institutions.
  • Serve as a platform for the establishment, mentorship, and development of new local and regional scientific societies in orthopedics and related disciplines.
